Welcome to Copenhagen Inline Challenge 2009
The streets of Copenhagen will again on Sunday July 26th 2009 host a real roller skating race. This 2nd edition of Copenhagen Inline Challenge will also be the first roller skating race in Copenhagen where you can challenge your self with the marathon distance of 40 km. Is it too much, you can also choose the half marathon of 20 km.
The races will be conducted separately as real road races, and your finish time will be recorded with a chip-timing system. The route will have start and finish right next to the beautiful Copenhagen Harbour on Islands Brygge - only 2 km from the Town hall Square, Centre of Copenhagen City. The route will be completely free for other traffic.
The fastest skaters will compete for the money price pool for men and ladies on the Marathon distance.
At the 1st edition of Copenhagen Inline Challenge i 2007, 428 roller skaters participated at the unique event being the first roller skating race in the history of Copenhagen. You can see photos from that event in the gallery.
Since 2007 the distancer has been doubled to a full marathon - and the so has the challenge!

Due to the safety of the skaters we have decided to shorten the lap with 500 meter. It is the narrow deadend from Islands Brygge that has been removed. Now the lap is exactly 10 km, a marathon 40 km, and a half marathon 20 km.

The deadline for online registrations has been extended until July 25th. registrations after July 16th will not participate in the draw of sponsor gifts. It is still possible register on race day until 2 hours before start, but for an extra fee.

Diego Rosero, two-time world champion from Colombia, participates on the marathon distance, and we have the opportunity to make two skate-clinics with him. You can participate! Read more (in Danish)

A upper limit of 1000 participants for this event has been set today. To make sure you can participate in this first marathon race for rollerskaters we recommed to register early.

Now there are two more good reason to register early. Nortlander Ski-Tours have decided to give 2 travel vouchers of DKK 5.000,- each to be drawn among pre-registered participants. The pre-registration closes on July 16th.

We have raised the time limit for the marathon race from 2 hours to 2½ hour. If you are unsure whether you can make it within that limit, we recommend the half marathon race.

We are proud to annouce that we have entered an agreement with the bank Arbejdernes Landsbank as main sponsor for the 2009 edition of Copenhagen Inline Challenge.

Again this year we have succeeded in raising a prizemoney pool of DKK 10.000,- (1.333,- euro) for the top women and men in the marathon race.

This website has been updated for the 2009 edition of the Copenhagen Inline Challenge. However, the online registration is yet only available in Danish language. English language will be available in April or May.
